It is necessary to remove the top, spray from the inside out with a low pressure water hose, and use the correct chemicals. It’s really not a job for homeowners and many service technicians do not receive the proper training. This gives spine fin an undeserved reputation as hard to clean.

    Damage Sensitivity: The aluminum fins are delicate and can be easily bent by incorrect cleaning methods. They would be susceptible to hail damaged except that all Trane condensers are protected by a full wrap cabinet. With proper care, there is no reason for the fins to be damaged.
