Randy graduated from Middletown High School in 1976, and, after shadowing his dad on a few service calls, he became interested in the HVAC industry. In '78, he passed his Middletown journeyman exam and began an apprenticeship with the Pipefitters Union. In 1985, while working for McGraw Construction, he received his master license for HVAC. In 1993, he started Watkins Mechanical, hired his brother, his son, and a few friends, and began providing top quality service to homeowners in the Miami Valley. Randy currently holds State of Ohio Master licenses for HVAC, plumbing, hydronics, electric, and refrigeration. Randy has a passion for missions work. In addition to giving, he teaches building trades to pastors and missionaries in developing countries.
David is the third generation of Watkins' in the HVAC business. He does our bookkeeping, marketing, purchasing, and technical support. David studied mechanical engineering and business administration in college and has had many hours of factory training over the years. He is NATE & EPA certified for service on all equipment, and he holds the company's state brazing & pressure piping certification. David lives in Springboro with his wife and three children.
Over the years, Keith has served as pastor, project manager, entrepreneur, facility manager, and HVAC technician. As our service manager, he makes great use of his rich background. From mentoring our technicians to assisting our customers, Keith always has a passion for serving others to bring about team success.
Jason joined our team in the spring of 2010. After six years in customer service and warehousing, Jason completed the HVAC program at RETS College with a GPA of 4.0. He currently installs Trane systems in existing homes and helps with our warehouse and accounting as needed. Jason's high quality work and attention to detail have made him an irreplaceable part of our team.
"Grandpa" got his start in air conditioning with the U.S. Air Force. After his tour in 1963, he worked for Honeywell as a commercial service technician. In 1979 he started Meridian Mechanical in Middletown, Ohio and met the HVAC needs of many businesses and factories for over fifteen years. In 2003, shortly after retiring, he lost his battle with cancer. He has been greatly missed.
Paulette joined us in 2007 on a recommendation from a mutual friend. Her many years of customer service with the phone company have made her a very valued part of our team. She does a great job answering our phones and keeping our technicians on schedule.
Like his older brother David, Elliot grew up in the heating business. He started working for his dad in 1997. He has a great love for music and is an accomplished cellist. After studying international business and music at Florida International University, Elliot decided to come home and get back into the heating business. Soon after, he found his wife and bought a home in Milford, Ohio. Elliot’s experience, business sense, and ingenuity make him a key member of our team.
Marty started his apprenticeship with the Pipefitters Union in 1987, and became an MES Journeyman. Growing up in the business, Marty has many years of experience and training. In 1995, Marty began helping his brother Randy with the new business and he's been a valuable team member ever since. Marty is NATE & CFC certified. He is an expert on large commercial heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems.
Brad grew up on a dairy farm in Sandusky County. One of his first jobs was running underground gas lines for a utility company. Brad joined our team in 1997 as an installer. He enjoys staying abreast of the latest technologies and is very skilled at diagnosing even the most advanced electronic furnace controls. Brad specializes in indoor air quality for homeowners with allergies. Brad is also EPA & NATE certified.
Brian grew up in Dayton and worked as a draftsman for the first 10 years of his career. In 1999 he earned a certificate in Commercial HVAC from Sinclair Community College and was hired by one of our competitors. Over the next few years he gained valuable experience in commercial and residential service and air balancing. Brian joined our team on his birthday in 2007. He is EPA & NATE certified and is very skilled at repairing heat pumps. Our customers tell us, he's a keeper!
